The Muddy Saga of the Bike That Went Nowhere

offroad

Yo, yo, yo, let me take you back to monsoon season, when the skies were weeping like they were at a Bollywood movie's sad climax, and me and my boy thought, "Why not take our local kirana wale bhaiya's bike up a mini mountain?"

Now, this bhaiya, he's not just any shopkeeper; he's a legend. Always hooking us up, not just because we've shared a few... let's say, "celebratory moments" that involve rolling up something other than the grocery list.

We're moving up this hill, right? The path's more mud than road, like someone spilled their entire cup of chai on the ground. We're slipping, sliding, doing more comedy than adventure. Suddenly, the bike - bhaiya's pride and joy - decides it's had enough and just plants itself into the mud like it's trying to start a new life there.

We're stuck, and we've just turned from explorers to two fools with a bike that's now more mud than machine.

Laughter's the only thing left to do when you're in this much mud. "Kamal Bhaiya toh Gand mar denge" I say, chuckling. My boy, not missing a beat, adds, "Muddy lube lag gaya hai already" ...TF bhai!?

After what feels like an eternity, we decide to call it quits. We're not summiting this mountain today unless it decides to come down to meet us. So, we drag our muddy selves and that bike back home, looking like we've just had a mud wrestling match we didn't sign up for.

A few days later, we get the scoop from some locals that there's this sweet staircase behind the mountain we were trying to conquer. Not just any staircase, but one with a proper road leading up. We were too busy playing explorers on the wrong side to notice this shortcut to success.

"Whattttttt..it was fun tho haha.." I said.

Back at home, cleaned up, sipping on some hot chai, we reflect on our misadventure. It's cozy, not just because we're warm and dry, but because there's something about shared stupidity, especially when it involves someone as cool as our Kamal bhaiya. We learned a lesson - sometimes, the journey isn't about the destination but about the laughs you share, even when you've borrowed a bike and tried to take it places it was never meant to go.

Cheers to the muddy paths we take, the shortcuts we miss, and the stories we tell. Peace out, and next time, maybe we'll check for staircases before we set off on our next "adventure".
